Metal Roofing Hawaii: We are a family and locally owned roofing subcontractor started in 1979 by Samatua Shafer. Sam believed in hard work, the love of his family and the love of God. When Sam passed, his legacy and motto “A Family Business Portraying Family Qualities” was carried on thru his daughter, Bernadette Shafer Robins (owner). Bernie followed her father’s footsteps in roofing, obtained her contractor’s license in 2000, and has further lead the company to grow and flourish into one of Hawaii’s most respected roofers! Today, Shafer’s Roofing prides itself in being the only female owned and operated roofing company, and is recognized by the State of Hawaii as a Women Owned Small Disadvantage Company, and is also currently certified by the Federal Government as an 8(a) Small Disadvantage Business. Bernadette also serves as the current secretary for the Roofing Contractors Association of Hawaii.
